The National Unity Government (NUG) of Myanmar has announced plans to recruit skilled leaders from ethnic alliances and strengthen partnerships with these groups. This strategic initiative was outlined by Acting President Duwal Shila during the 2/2025 National Unity Government meeting held on January 14.
Duwal Shila emphasized the importance of forging practical alliances with ethnic groups to advance revolutionary processes and combat the ongoing military dictatorship. “I think there needs to be a practical alliance to strengthen alliances with ethnic alliances. By infusing our government with talented leaders from allied forces, we will be able to continue implementing revolutionary processes that are broader than the current situation,” he stated.
